Lupine Seed – Lupinus Polyphyllus Noble Maiden Flower Seeds
Lupine (Lupinus Polyphyllus Noble Maiden) – Bring the butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden with these tall, stately white flowers. These perennials can be established from Lupine seeds, and they are particularly suited for a cottage garden setting. Noble Maiden Lupine is a perennial with medium green leaves, large and palmate, with lance-shaped leaflets. The plants are clumping, bushy and can reach 40 inches in height. This variety is grown for its brilliant display of creamy white sweet pea-shaped flowers on tall spikes. It blooms in late spring and early summer.
The Lupine would be so graceful growing along woodlands, old stone walls, or dotting fields like seasoned wildflowers that have been there for years.

How to Grow
Sow Lupine seeds in organically rich and fertile soil. The soil needs to be evenly moist and well-drained. They perform best in full sun. They thrive in areas that have cool summers, and when grown in hot summer areas, it is best to make sure they have some afternoon shade. Grow Lupine in a sheltered location, free from wind. It is important to grow Lupine in soil that has good air-circulation to avoid any mildew.
- Sowing Rate: 2 – 3 seeds per plant
- Depth: Seeds must be covered thinly
- Average Germ Time: 7 – 14 days
- Moisture: Keep seed moist until germination
- Plant Spacing: 18 – 24 inches
It is advised to nick the seeds prior to planting. Then soak seeds in water overnight. This will help seeds get a start on germination and the plants will grow faster.
